Video has become the world's most powerful motivator. While people might have once been more inclined to read, or to listen, now they watch. If you don't grab their attention in the first few seconds, especially in places like Fiverr and Upwork, the game is over before it begins.

Why a Video on Fiverr?

When buyers bring up a search page on Fiverr, they are presented with a page containing 50 thumbnails. At one time, to listen to a demo, they needed to click on a thumbnail before the demo would begin playing. Now, just passing their mouse over it will start playback. That means they can "skim" across the page with their mouse in seconds, listening to demo after demo. If you don't catch their eye in those first few seconds, your opportunity may have already been lost. Fiverr says "engagement" is increased 40% through the use of a video.

Help Them "Picture" it

I think the greatest benefit to a video demo (and the reason I use them on all my Fiverr gigs) is that it is so much easier for buyers to envision what we would be like in their video projects. Another benefit is that, if your styles are somewhat similar from clip to clip, it makes it more obvious when you move to the next one because the visual imagery has also changed.
